Earlier this week, Shadow Minister for Education John Gardner MP and I visited ATEC - Adelaide Training & Employment Centre:, the largest non-government training provider of construction, engineering and electrical apprentice training in South Australia.
Like TAFE, ATEC fills a crucial role in training and equipping our future workforce, but as a private provider they offer some unique differences, including a better ability to integrate with industry, and offering more one-on-one support, particularly to students who may experience challenges with their learning.
During our visit we toured ATEC's Ottoway facility and had a discussion with their team about steps the government could take to parter with them, remove systemic obstacles, and better improve learning outcomes for their students and South Australia's future workforce.
