South Australia's newest shellfish reef

Wednesday 27 May 2020

We’re building a shellfish reef off the coast of Glenelg! 1 million native oysters will be seeded in the artificial reef around the size of Adelaide Oval! This is such an exciting initiative ticking so many boxes:⁣

- Creating habitat for marine life to grow and thrive⁣
- Purifying the water - each oyster will filter a bathtub of water a day!⁣
- Stabilising the seabed and preventing coastal erosion⁣
- Proving an opportunity for people to learn about our precious marine life. ⁣

I will keep you updated as this project progresses!⁣
