Schools upgrade program

The Marshall Liberal Government is investing in local schools like never before. As part of our turbocharged school upgrade program three local high schools are going to have major works starting soon! Hallett Cove R-12 School, Seaview High School and Brighton Secondary School have had their designs completed and works will soon begin! Keep an eye out as these transformations begin at our three brilliant schools.

BRIGHTON SECONDARY SCHOOL

• A new two storey middle school building providing 15 general learning spaces, 3 science learning spaces, common areas, amenities and teacher preparation areas
• Refurbishment of 7 learning spaces
• Landscaping to the new middle school surrounds
• Additional bicycle parking
• Relocation of the beach volleyball courts.

SEAVIEW HIGH SCHOOL

• Construction of a new 2 level multi-purpose creative design building
• Construction of a new performing arts facility and associated performance spaces including rehearsal workshops, amenities and outdoor spaces
• Refurbishment of an existing building to provide contemporary learning areas including spaces to deliver STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics).

HALLETT COVE R-12 SCHOOL

• A full refurbishment and expansion of the middle school building, encompassing two food technology laboratories, two visual art studios, general learning areas, learning commons and additional staff support spaces. It will include an adjoining outdoor learning area connecting to other buildings
• A full refurbishment of the existing home economics building to create four specialist learning areas
• A new modular building to increase the size of the activity hall
• Minor refurbishments to some buildings
• Demolition of ageing infrastructure.
