Saying no to 'pay as you throw'

Cost of living is soaring across Australia right now. Interest rates are way up, electricity prices are out of control, and this week we found out that Labor was doing modelling on a ‘pay as you throw’ charge for picking up your bins based on weight! We were quick to call this nonsense out as a cruel impost on families when they’re doing it really tough. I’m all for finding ways to encourage people to generate less waste, but let’s do that through education and incentives, not a big stick approach like a new tax!
