On my recent visit to Kangaroo Island, I dropped by the new Flinders Chase National Park Visitor Centre which is nearing completion. Joined by Shadow Assistant Minister for Environment and Heritage Jack Batty MP, we toured the $20 million facility, which was commissioned when I was Environment Minister to replace the former visitor centre destroyed in the 2020 bushfire. The new, sustainably built visitor centre sits just outside the bounds of the national park and will serve as a gateway to the western end of the island for years to come.
