Bill to protect public holiday titles

Last week in Parliament, Labor removed the titles of public holidays such as Christmas Day, Anzac Day and Australia Day from our state’s laws. The holidays remain, but the names are gone.

The Liberals sought to reinstate them, but Labor voted our amendments down. Why? I have no idea.

In response, I have prepared legislation to ensure that this is fixed. I’m calling on Labor to show some respect to our nation’s heritage by backing my Bill immediately.
