There are few words that adequately describe the tragic death of Brevet Sergeant Jason Doig near Bordertown last night. All I can say is that we are grateful for his lifelong service in our state’s police force and devastated for his family and friends left behind.
Thank you Sergeant Doig for your service and for your ultimate sacrifice in your efforts to keep our community safe.
I also want to pay tribute to Constable Rebekah Cass and Sergeant Michael Hutchinson for their brave and courageous efforts to help Sergeant Doig.
Our police officers do an amazing job protecting our community and this is a stark reminder of the inherent risks they face day in day out.
