Vale Brevet Sergeant Jason Doig

There are few words that adequately describe the tragic death of Brevet Sergeant Jason Doig near Bordertown last night. All I can say is that we are grateful for his lifelong service in our state’s police force and devastated for his family and friends left behind. ⁣⁣

Thank you Sergeant Doig for your service and for your ultimate sacrifice in your efforts to keep our community safe.

⁣⁣I also want to pay tribute to Constable Rebekah Cass and Sergeant Michael Hutchinson for their brave and courageous efforts to help Sergeant Doig.⁣⁣

Our police officers do an amazing job protecting our community and this is a stark reminder of the inherent risks they face day in day out.⁣
