This past week I made another overnight trip to the Riverland to meet with local producers, community leaders, and small businesses. I was joined by Tim Whetstone, local Member for Chaffey and Nicola Centofanti MLC.
We discussed important issues such as flood recovery, how power prices are impacting crop production, challenges around phone coverage, the water supply and buyback scheme, the local wine industry, tourism opportunities and new business ventures. I also attended a primary school graduation ceremony, and dropped by several hotels where I spoke with locals and visitors.
Soon my party will begin announcing our policies leading up to the 2026 election. This trip, like all my trips, helps inform how we can best create policies that serve all South Australians; not just those in Adelaide. This also marks my 52nd regional trip since becoming Leader of the Opposition and I look forward to returning to the Riverland soon.
