Meeting with wine producers in McLaren Vale

Earlier this week I was in McLaren Vale with Nicola Centofanti MLC and Ben Hood MLC meeting with local families and business owners and talking all things viticulture.Our trip was all about listening to those on the ground, and some of the challenges they’re facing. Key questions included:

What does the re-opening of the Chinese market mean for the region when exports are down 28% for Shiraz and 42% for Cabernet Sauvignon?

How will any expansion of the container deposit recycling scheme expansion impact winemakers?

How can we support South Australian regional communities to keep land productive into the future?

The South Australian Liberal Party will do all it can to not only listen to primary industries but stand shoulder to shoulder with them as we build actions and policies on how to forge a sustainable future for their sector.
