Our government is committed to protecting our incredible coasts and marine life. The 2018-19 State Budget includes $5.2 million for coastal protection, in fact, we are doing more for practical coastal protection than ever before. This includes increasing sand retention, sea grass restoration, creating wetlands to stop pollutants entering our ocean, a research and development fund to protect against storm events and erosion and the creation of three new artificial reefs to promote marine life.
I love the beach and the ocean and I’m working hard to make sure our beautiful natural resource is protected and enhanced to be enjoyed for years to come.
If you can, take some time to visit the coast this week and celebrate #SeaWeek.
