FIXING HOVE CROSSING 🚊 ✅
Nicolle Flint Member for Boothby, Corey Wingard and I have been working for years to come up with a plan to fix Hove Crossing - and it’s now happening!
The funding has been secured, initial design work is underway and soon community consultation will begin.
Teamwork gets things done and by working together we’ve been able to achieve an excellent result with the near completion of Oaklands Crossing, and Hove Crossing is next!
The Hove railway crossing has been creating congestion in our community for as long as most people can remember.
With over 40,000 daily vehicle movements, Brighton Road is one of Adelaide’s busiest roads, but is blocked by boom gates for 25% of peak travel times.
Tackling congestion and modernising our great city is a key goal of both the State and Federal Governments. In 2016 the Coalition Government pledged $95 million to deliver the $175 million Oaklands Crossing project. This triggered State and local government contributions to make the project happen.
Now we’re focused on fixing Brighton Road and I am delighted to announce that the Federal Government is partnering with the state Liberal Government to fix Hove Crossing.
In the coming months detailed designs will be released and community consultation undertaken to help shape the best way to deliver this incredible project.
