It's happening! Fixing Hove Crossing

Thursday 16 May 2019

The Hove railway crossing has been creating congestion in our community for as long as most people can remember.

With over 40,000 daily vehicle movements, Brighton Road is one of Adelaide’s busiest roads, but is blocked by boom gates for 25% of peak travel times.

Tackling congestion and modernising our great city is a key goal of both the State and Federal Governments. In 2016 the Coalition Government pledged $95 million to deliver the $175 million Oaklands Crossing project. This triggered State and local government contributions to make the project happen.

Now we’re focused on fixing Brighton Road and I am delighted to announce that the Federal Government is partnering with the state Liberal Government to fix Hove Crossing.

In the coming months detailed designs will be released and community consultation undertaken to help shape the best way to deliver this incredible project.
