Calling for Stamp Duty relief

We believe more South Australians deserve to receive stamp duty relief on the purchase of their first home, not just those buying a new build.

While we are pleased the Government listened to our calls to offer stamp duty relief to those who buy a new home, there is currently no assistance for South Australians who want to purchase an existing property.

That's why the South Australian Liberal Party is calling for a $10,000 stamp duty discount on existing properties valued up to $750,000 for first home buyers.

We understand that for many South Australians building a new home isn't as feasible as purchasing an existing one, and when people are already feeling the pinch from cost-of-living pressures, every dollar that can be saved counts.

We've called on the Malinauskas Labor Government to implement our proposed discount now, but if they don't, we're committed to expanding stamp duty relief for first home buyers if elected in 2026.
