Budget must restore funding for infrastructure projects

I was incredibly disappointed when Labor made more than $400 million worth of savage cuts to five key South Australian road initiatives late last year. In a huge blow to productivity and safety on SA’s roads, the following infrastructure projects were axed:

• Hahndorf Township Improvements and Access Upgrade.
• Main South Road Productivity Package.
• Old Belair Road Upgrade.
• The Onkaparinga Valley Road – Tiers Road – Nairne Road Intersection Upgrade.
• Truro Freight Route.

That’s why today I said we must see funding restored for these significant projects in tomorrow’s Federal Budget. If we don’t, Peter Malinauskas simply didn’t fight hard enough for SA’s interests.
