WATCH: It's been a couple of hundred years since platypuses lived in the River Torrens, but what if we could re-establish this urban river as a home and sanctuary for these unique creatures?!
That's exactly what Green Adelaide is working to do. Based on an independent scoping study that we commissioned when I was the state's Environment Minister, they have found that the water quality and habitat are of a condition which would allow platypuses to thrive. There's still a little work to be done, but we're on the right track to reintroduce the platypus to the River Torrens. Watch this and check out more details here.
