On top of this there have been explosive claims made this week by SA doctors’ union President Dr David Pope that multiple patients may have died inside ED waiting rooms because clinicians are being ‘intimidated’ into treating ambulance arrivals ahead of more urgent cases to make ambulance ramping appear better.
We are pleased the Government has listened to our calls for an independent investigation into the claims, but Dr Pope believes these intimidation tactics are a ‘political decision’, which leaves us wondering if this alleged scandal spreads all the way to the top?
