Priorities

These Ideas for Recovery present a comprehensive, evidence-based framework for not merely recovering from this disaster, but that will use the bloom as a catalyst for both change and enduring environmental transformation. If implemented, these ideas will create a more resilient, thriving marine environment which will be able to withstand the inevitable challenges of the future.

I will return $30,000 every year from my own MP salary directly back into the community of Black. This money will be managed at arm’s length by an independent community board and distributed to local organisations making a real difference in our electorate.

If elected to represent Black, I will make securing state government funding for the Hallett Cove Sea Pool my number one community infrastructure priority. I will work with the City of Marion, the state government and federal counterparts to finally get this project funded and built.

Mental health is not a fringe issue. It touches every family, every suburb, every regional town. As your independent member for Black, I will fight for a system that wraps around people before they reach crisis, and is there when they do.

Modernising O’Halloran Hill’s fire and emergency response facilities to keep our community safe and our first responders equipped with the conditions they deserve.
