In my role as a local MP, I am often contacted by local residents about the lack of shops and amenities at Hallett Cove Shopping Centre. As a local user of the centre and as an office tenant on the edge of the precinct, I’ve also been curious about the decline of the centre in recent years, but now I have some good news… Yesterday I caught up with the centre’s new owners and received a detailed briefing of their plans for the future. Since purchasing the property 12-months ago, they’ve been working through a range of opportunities and developing detailed plans. This includes a range of new retail outlets and eateries, modernising facilities and upgrades to the visual amenity of the precinct. Their plans include multiple new tenancies and reconfiguring parts of the centre, as well as improvements to the external areas which include greening and shade.
The centre’s owners will be unveiling many of these plans to the public in the coming weeks, so watch this space and get excited about the upcoming reinvigoration of our local shops!
