Extra support for wildlife recovery

The bushfires in the Adelaide Hills and on Kangaroo Island have had a devastating impact on our wildlife. A significant number of animals have been killed or injured.

There has been a huge rescue effort by some incredible volunteer organisations across South Australia to help these injured animals return to health.

The state government has today announced $50,000 to be immediately made available for these wildlife recovery centres to continue their work in this time. Important medical equipment will also be donated to Kangaroo Island Wildlife Park and Adelaide Koala Rescue thanks to a surplus within SA Health.

I’d like to extend my thanks to all the volunteers working so hard during this time. Together we will nurture and care for our state’s wonderful wildlife and restore their precious habitat. 🙏 🐨 🌱
