South Australia has some great events which are a big part of our way of life. These events can inevitably have an environmental impact and so it’s great to see event organisers working hard to be sustainable. This year’s Westpac City-Bay Fun Run Presented by Sunday Mail has taken a big stride (pardon the pun 😂) towards being plastic free with tens of thousands of compostable cups used along the route.
Working with Australian Green Clean they sorted bins into green compostables, recyclables and landfill items and have massively reduced their waste to landfill! Impressive!
P.S. yes I’m wearing my medal like a little kid, and yes I’ll probably wear it to bed tonight.
