Australia votes NO!

Australians and South Australians have overwhelmingly voted against changing our constitution to include a Voice to Parliament. The result was particularly clear in our suburbs and our regions where people I spoke to did not want to divide our country based on race and were worried with the lack of detail provided about the proposal. We live in a great country where we can peacefully take part in democracy and I want to thank the vast majority of Australians, and in particular the huge numbers of volunteers for both campaigns, who did so in a respectful and thoughtful way. Today we must work together to unite the country and importantly focus on practical action to improve outcomes for our disadvantaged Aboriginal communities.
